Advice from Miles Redd

If you read Friday's post, you know I was headed to the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show to hear a lecture by interior designer, Miles Redd. It was a wonderful lecture and he of course is a wealth of knowledge. Here are a few things I learned that I thought I would share with you. Enjoy!

1. Taxi Cab yellow paint is a wonderful color to display art against. You can see it in rooms designed by Albert Hadley, Sister Parish, Billy Baldwin and David Hicks to name a few. Mile's used it recently in the Boxwood project in Atlanta.

2. Every living room should have a bar as seen here in Mile's current living room.

3. Make a silk purse out of a sow's ear through the use of books, lampshades and painted/upholstered doors.
